Modupe Tunde-Byass

Dr. Modupe Tunde-Byass is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of the UK and The Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. She is an active staff at North York General Hospital. Dr. Tunde-Byass was the inaugural president of the Black Physicians of Canada (BPC) and the president-elect of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada .  Her work focuses on advocacy, mentorship, community building, leadership, and collaboration with key stakeholders. She is involved with research on early pregnancy loss, maternal mortality and morbidity in Black birthing mothers and collaborates on research in the Black communities. She is a member of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI) committees at the North York General Hospital and at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Toronto. Dr. Tunde-Byass is involved in key quality initiatives in the province. She is co-founder of Women’s Health Education Made Simple (WHEMS).
